The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme List, made available on the government website, aims to support small and medium-level farmers across the nation.
This initiative, considered one of the government's finest, is designed to boost farmers' incomes. It offers several key benefits that have materialized for beneficiaries.
The
process is straightforward: small and marginal farmers seeking government
financial support must apply through the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana's
official website. Once their names are included in the potential beneficiary
list, they become eligible for government aid.
Specifically,
farmers may receive Rs 6000 under this scheme if they are listed as
beneficiaries. The financial assistance is disbursed in three installments to
eligible recipients.
The
seventh installment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme had a significant impact
on farmers' financial situations. It was launched by Prime Minister Narendra
Modi on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
During a video conference on December 25, 2020, PM Modi announced the direct
transfer of Rs 18,000 crore to the bank accounts of over 9 crore farmers,
executed through a single-click transaction.
A notable
aspect of this scheme is its digital transfer mechanism, aimed at reducing
corruption and directly benefiting farmers. The PM highlighted the meticulous
process ensuring the credibility of bank accounts and state government
registrations before fund transfers.
All state
governments, except West Bengal, are linked to this scheme, leaving around 70
lakh farmers in West Bengal unable to access its benefits. Despite over 23 lakh
farmers applying under the scheme, the verification process was halted by the
West Bengal state government.
Anticipating
the eighth installment, scheduled for release before Holi, the government
continues to support farmers through this scheme. Registration before March 31,
2021, is required for interested beneficiaries.
As of
December 2020, 11.66 crore farmers were registered under the scheme, showing a
significant increase from the 9.64 crore recorded earlier.
The PM
Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme, with its core aim of aiding farmers reliant on crop
income, has proven to be a significant step in supporting the agricultural
community.
The Kisan
Samman Nidhi Scheme, aimed at doubling farmers' incomes by 2022, has been a
cornerstone initiative for the government. In pursuit of this goal, the
Ministry of Agriculture Welfare allocated a budget of Rs 1,31,531 crore for the
fiscal year 2021, a 5.63% increase from the previous year. Half of this budget
was earmarked for the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, amounting to Rs
6500 crore.
Besides
this scheme, funds were allocated for various agricultural programs like
Agricultural Research, Irrigation Program, and the Agri Infra Fund, totaling Rs
16.5 lakh crore.
Having
commenced on February 24, 2019, the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme has already
benefited nearly 11.65 lakh farmer families, aiming to promote self-dependence
among them. Each eligible farmer family receives Rs 6000 in three installments
of Rs 2000 every four months.
For the
upcoming 8th installment, farmers eligible under the scheme need to reapply.
However, ineligible beneficiaries who received funds mistakenly must return the
money. To streamline this, specific guidelines have been introduced:
Mutations
Required: New beneficiaries must have agricultural land registered in their
names to benefit from the scheme. Those previously receiving aid based on their
grandfathers' LPC (Land Possession Certificate) won't be eligible without land
mutations. However, these changes won't affect existing beneficiaries.
Plot
Number: Farmers currently benefitting from Khatiyani land must acquire land
under their names to continue availing the benefits. When applying for the
Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, mentioning the plot number is now mandatory.
The
pending 8th installment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, expected to be
disbursed before Holi, awaits the approval for its extension to farmers in West
Bengal. The Agriculture Minister has urged the state to appoint a Nodal Officer
for successful implementation, benefiting around 20 lakh farmers in West
Bengal.
To
streamline application procedures, farmers need essential documents like bank
accounts and Aadhar cards, emphasizing the necessity of linking Aadhar cards to
bank accounts.
The 7th
installment, released on December 25, 2020, marked a significant step in
supporting farmers. Over 9 crore farmers received Rs 18,000 crore directly into
their bank accounts under this installment. The event also facilitated
discussions on various schemes and laws to empower farmers further.
For the PM
Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana New List 2021, eligible beneficiaries must apply
online. The scheme aims to support small and medium marginal farmers with up to
2 hectares of land.
With the
recent disbursement of the 7th installment, plans for the 8th installment's
release by March 28 are underway. However, ineligible beneficiaries who
received benefits erroneously are liable to repay the amount.
The
process of fund transfer follows a rigorous verification by state governments
through revenue records before the central government provides financial aid to
eligible farmers.
Lastly,
the 6th installment of Rs 2000 was disbursed on August 9, 2020, as part of the
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
Initially,
the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme catered to farmers owning up to 2 hectares of
land. However, the central government later expanded the scheme's coverage to
include a total of 14.5 crore farmers by eliminating this limit.
Regarding
the 6th installment of the PM Kisan Scheme, in April 2020, the Union Ministry
of Agriculture disbursed the 5th installment to 90 lakh farmers, amounting to
Rs 18,000 crore. Further clarifications revealed that Rs 14,000 crore was
distributed among 7 crore families for the 6th and 7th installments under the
same scheme.

Online
registration and Aadhaar card-linked editing are available via the Kisan portal.
Farmers can track payment statuses through the PM Kisan portal.
The
government is planning to introduce a unique farmer ID, "PM Kisan Pehchan
Patra," to enhance transparency. This ID will link each farmer's land
records, facilitating seamless benefit access and streamlining the process,
aided by the digitization of land records.
Several
categories of farmers are ineligible to apply for the scheme, including those
holding constitutional posts, MLZ, councilors, pensioners, MPs,
district/council members, and government employees paying income tax.
Post-launch,
around 10 crore farmers successfully registered for the PM-Kisan Scheme. The
Kisan Identity Card aims to cover various farming occupations, promoting
inclusivity within the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme.
With the
digitization efforts, transparent data provision and updates will be available
to farmers. The integration of the farmer identity card with their land
database promises substantial assistance.
Addressing
the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the government ensured direct
fund transfers to beneficiaries' bank accounts, amounting to Rs 5,125 crore
between April and July.
